Evidence and standards
Our evidence
Trust should be visible in the work rather than asserted at the top of it. These are the documents that describe how Long Bright Life is made.
The short version
We start from the decision a reader is actually facing, look for the strongest available evidence, weigh its quality and relevance honestly, and translate it without overstating what follows. Where the evidence is thin, contested or absent, we publish that rather than filling the gap with confidence.
Commercial relationships never determine an editorial conclusion, and any that exist are disclosed on the page they affect.
The documents
How we research
The step-by-step method: framing the question, finding the evidence, judging its quality and relevance, and stating what remains uncertain.
Editorial standards
The rules we hold ourselves to — including an explicit account of what we do not yet have.
Review methodology
How products and comparisons will be assessed, published in advance of any commercial incentive.
Medical review policy
An accurate statement of the clinical review our content receives today, and what it does not.
Corrections policy
How errors are fixed, logged and made visible rather than quietly removed.
On uncertainty
Evidence quality varies enormously. Association is not causation, a promising early result is not a finding, and individual circumstances differ in ways that population research cannot capture. Recommendations may change as evidence changes, so pages are dated and revisited rather than left to age quietly.
