Accessibility statement
Last updated: 14 August 2026
We want Long Bright Life to be usable by everyone, including people using assistive technology.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is a target we work towards continuously, not a certification we claim.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with landmarks, headings and labelled navigation regions.
- A “skip to content” link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Keyboard access to every interactive control, with visible focus indicators.
- A cookie preference dialog with proper dialog semantics, focus management, focus trapping, an Escape shortcut and inert background content.
- Text and interface colours checked for contrast against our ivory and forest palette.
- Touch targets sized for comfortable use on small screens.
- Support for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Social marks that are not yet linked are exposed as images with an explanation rather than as empty or misleading links.
Known limitations
- This is a pre-launch site. It has not yet had a full independent accessibility audit or user testing with assistive technology users.
- The primary navigation is hidden on narrow screens in the current homepage design; a mobile navigation pattern is planned.
- Some decorative homepage graphics are CSS-generated and carry no text alternative by design; no information is conveyed by them alone.
Reporting a barrier
A monitored contact address for accessibility reports is being set up and will be published on our contact page. We would rather say that plainly than publish an address nobody is reading.
